Welcome to the AACE International's San Francisco Bay Area Section
Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International
For more than 50 years the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International has been working to advance the professional
standards and practice of project controls management. Beginning in 1956 with a focus on cost engineering, it has since grown to embrace all aspects of project controls, with more than 5,500 members in over 78 countries, currently represented in more than 70 local sections.
The comprehensive organizational mission of AACE, to evolve and enhance the professional practice of project controls, is reflected in its diverse membership of cost managers, cost engineers, value engineers, estimators, bidders, project planners, schedulers, and project managers. AACE has clearly grown well beyond its early roots in cost engineering.
AACE offers a broad array of very practical and proven resources to enhance the practice of all those who work in project controls.
Whether you are a seasoned professional with many years of experience behind you or a new practitioner uncertain of how to acquire new knowledge, AACE offers you many opportunities to improve your skills, to help others by sharing your valuable experience, and to develop your network of individuals and companies engaged in project controls.
AACE offers several professional certifications along with certification workshops and recommended reading lists and study materials.
AACE certifications set the standard for evaluating professional competence, validating the practical, real-world skills and professionalism of the certified project controls practitioner. AACE’s Certification experience is extensive. AACE’s CCC/CCE program is independently accredited by the Council of Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards and the International Cost Engineering Council.
In addition to certification, more than three dozen professional practice guides and recommended practices have been developed by top industry
professionals in each discipline, providing clear standards and procedures for the implementation and evaluation of project control systems and practitioners.
Educational opportunities are available through online distance learning and access to a large library of relevant professional papers and texts.
A monthly publication, The Cost Engineering Journal, keeps members up to date on the latest discussion, issues, and research in the field of project controls.
